There Is A Dead Rat In The Swimming Pool, 2005 Limited edition canvas print (signed) EDITION SOLD OUT 60 x 40 cm Edition of 5, 0 prints available Price: 340 EUR Original: SOLD I see you smiling Wanting me to smile back I see your fake joy That someday will be shattered I see your innocent perspective of life And it makes me cringe inside Do you know what it’s like to cry yourself to sleep? Do you know what it’s like to feel so defeated? Do you know what it’s like to feel pain and sorrow and guilt? For I am here and I am tired. I am thirsty but I am too weak Everything is so different now. I worry and I cry and I break, Because I am not as strong as you, But are you as strong as you seem, or have you just never been hurt? Do you really understand? Because in your world of pretend In your world of all these naive lies No one ever feels pain or regret and everyone is always happy When will you wake up to reality and see that every day people are hurting and it’s not always as easy as you make it sound. When will you see, that not everyone has been delt your perfect life When will you finally understand, That though I am trying to please you I am really breaking inside?
